Although some people might not agree with me, but I am really so happy with the implementation of minimum salary together with the cancellation of NOC. This is really a tandem and they complement each other tremendously.

First, this rule might not be perfect, but this will surely lessen if not eradicate completely the abuse of employers.

Ok, granted, QAR 1,800 is low and might not seem enough, but way back home, this is better than seeing their family die with hunger, or bear the sadness of not giving anything to their family except the food they gathered outside.

I believe that if a person dream and work hard enough, they can use the minimum salary and cancellation of NOC as a step towards their dream.

QAR 1,800 will never make anyone rich, but it can be used it to enhance someones life.

They can study online and use the knowledge they gain to build their own small business, or apply for a new job, remember NOC is no longer required as long as you finish your contract or if the employer is not giving the salary on time.

Before, even if the employer doesn't give salary, there's no way out except to go back to their home country and face the ban of 2 years before coming back to Qatar and apply for a job.

Now, that's not the case anymore.

Secondly, this is also good with the businesses in Qatar because now, they can hire locally the best talents. They don't need to spend a lot of money hiring outside Qatar. But yes, they have to give the best salary possible for this talented employee, which I think is just fair.

So going back again, if the employee is talented, and the business owners or management knew their employees worth, they need to compensate them equally, or else, somebody will make an irresistible offer to hire them.

Finally, with these changes in Qatar, nobody can say that nothing happened to their life because they were abused and was not given any chances.

With QAR 1,800 and a little more sacrifice, living below their means, investing in education, enhancing their skills, nothing is impossible.

Trust me, I've seen this many times, they'll get their dream, if not them, their children at least will reap all the rewards of their sacrifices, and they will be one step higher than the social status  of their parents when their parents started sacrificing for their dreams.
